WHY DO WE NEED YOU?PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The Process Lead will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing action plans, and implementing improvements to increase safety, quality, production, and cost performance in the Peachtree City plant. The candidate must have leadership abilities to influence operations team members while not having direct supervisory authority. This position reports to the Continuous Improvement Supervisor and is primarily a M-F, 8 hour day shift position but may be required to work some off shifts.
Pay: $32.50 - $34.50

There will be a skills test applied. Selection will be made based on skills and competency test, as well as leadership and support of CARTT.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Under the direction of the Continuous Improvement Supervisor, identifies opportunities to optimize our production capabilities through operator standard work, 5S, Visual Workplace, and project participation.
- Develops and follows a rolling 100-day plan for line improvements.
- Participates in report out to management team on progress.
- Knowledgeable in Qlickview or Factory + to identify efficiency and waste losses.
- Works with plant Training Specialist to review and improve training documents.
- Participates in AM/PM projects and People Development projects as assigned.
- Continuously evaluates workplace for safety, quality and productivity concerns; recommends and implements improvements.
- Assures good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, promotes (or coaches) plant rules and safety regulations, and supports WCM initiatives.
- May participate in a WCM pillars as assigned (Safety, Quality Reliability etc.)
- Receive, utilize WCM trainings to reduce manufacturing wastes, implement error proofing, quick change overs, among others.
- Help deliver WCM training to PTC team.
- Research solutions to equipment and process deficiencies.
- May involve interacting with suppliers for solutions.
- Participate in Capital scope development for improvement projects.

KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES (SKILLS & ABILITIES):
- Minimum of 3 years working for CertainTeed in our facility
- Deep understanding of our Peachtree City operations
- Basic computer literacy, and reading / writing skills
- Positive, optimistic attitude - believing that our Peachtree City operations can set a world class standard
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to spend a significant amount of time on plant floor. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Job may require long periods of sitting, walking, standing, working on a computer or engaging in telephone conversation. Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as forklifts, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas. Plant operation is 24/7 and work hours may vary. Primary schedule will be onsite, Mon-Fri, daytime hours. Occasional opportunities for travel will be presented to learn from other company sites. Certain projects may require long hours, and occasional weekend and holiday work to support implementation.
