Description
DescriptionAs an FOC Operator at Apple, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational performance of all systems that monitor critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for continuously monitoring and manipulating critical equipment such as environmental controls, power distribution systems and fire life safety systems related to critical equipment. The ideal candidate should possess the skills to react to system alarms, maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all system changes. Have the ability to gather detailed information and raise incidents to management in real time. Assist with gathering trend data and metrics to determine site health. Openly connect with facilities peers and management along with external vendors to ensure maintenance activities are being performed per Apple standards. The role requires operating, monitoring, and reporting the status of all controls and monitoring systems, such as the Electrical Power Monitoring Systems, Building Management Systems, Fire/ Life Safety, Generator Systems and Facility Networks. This includes assisting with manipulating the control systems based on maintenance activities and direction from onsite supervision. By employing data-driven analysis, infrastructure issues are identified and addressed. Compliance logs and reports, including the Daily Activities Report (DAR), Normal Change of State, Shift Turnover, Lock Out Tag Out Log, and Generator emissions, are required to be updated and maintained. During turnover meetings, updates are provided on outstanding issues noted in the DAR, Normal Change of State, or any other platform used for tracking deficiencies or unresolved matters. Effective collaboration is required with both local and remote teams, as well as vendors and suppliers, to achieve overall goals. This includes updating work requests as vendors complete tasks. Identify critical events with the responsibility of leading the critical issue process until relieved by management. Additionally, Change Requests for planned facilities work are implemented, and FOC Operators are responsible for opening incident tickets for break/fix activities Note: Critical Facilities operations monitors work 12 hours per day including graveyard, weekend and holiday shifts and may work overtime depending on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years experience with EPMS, BMS and/or FLS controls systems
- Experience with maintenance management tools such as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or similar
- Experience with or exposure to mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety systems.
- Availability to work grave shift, weekend and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of related experience in a mission critical environment.
- Ability to read and interpret fire system, electrical system, and mechanical system drawings
- Understanding of safety regulations and standard processes in data center environments.
- Planning, analytical, organization and problem solving skills.
- Working detailed knowledge of mechanical, Electrical, and fire life safety, and networking systems.
- Comfortable with rapid change, and daring deadlines common to rapidly growing companies with evolving business models.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic setting.
- Experience and skills necessary to apply programs and process used to assess and react to high priority alarms while actively mitigating risk when required.
