Job summary:
The Thales Romania Engineering Competence Center is a dedicated entity that performs activities in collaboration with various stakeholders from different countries, addressing transversal activities interconnected with all the Thales Group activity domains.
The DevOps & Cloud discipline is oriented to building and running specific platforms for either internal or external clients. Being part of this discipline gives you the opportunity to join global communities of practice and to collaborate with various experts, even if they might not be working on the same project.
On this specific position, the key responsibility is to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of containerized applications and infrastructure within the KAST (Kubernetes Analytics and Services sTack) project scope.
You'll need to have
- Experience: 3+ years in software testing, with 2+ years focused on Kubernetes (RKE2, K3S) ecosystems
- Hands on experience with testing frameworks ( e.g.,Robot Framework).
- Proficient in Kubernetes architecture, deployments, and debugging tools (kubectl , k9s)
- Familiarity with helm packaging and Helm File templating, Kustomize
- Familiarity with Network policies, Gatekeeper, Trivy , Certmanager , Cilium
- Scripting expertise (Python, Bash, Go) for automation
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure AKS, GCP GKE) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
Nice to have
- Kubernetes certification (CKA)
- ISTQB testing certification
Whilst working with us on
- Test Design & Execution: develop and implement test plans for Kubernetes deployments
- Cluster Validation: verify Kubernetes configurations, networking (CNI), storage (CSI), and security policies (RBAC, network policies)
- CI/CD Integration: Embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) to validate Helm charts, Operators, and custom manifests
- Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in resource utilization, scheduling, and scaling using tools like Prometheus, Grafana
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and report issues related to pod scheduling, service discovery, ingress/egress, and persistent storage
- Security Testing: validate compliance with best practices (e.g., secrets management, image scanning, runtime security, CIS compliance, OPA rules)
- Documentation: Maintain clear records of test cases, results, and remediation steps
Mobility
- Travels to France up to 3-4 travels in the first 6 months
Languages
- English mandatory
- French would be a plus
