As a Sheet Metal Manufacturing Engineer, you have a key role in the fabrication processes. You will be responsible for ensuring the tools, fixtures, equipment, workstations, preventive maintenance, standard work, and production documents are updated and in optimal conditions to help keep efficient and effective the fabrication production, lastly and not less importantly respecting the safety and quality standards, and optimizing the use of resources. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with the cross-functional team and different departments to achieve KPI metrics, implement process improvements, and maintain a safe working environment in all areas under his responsibility.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for defining the process, tools, documents, and equipment.
- Tooling and fixture design.
- Active participation in the problem-solving process, using poka-yoke methods and tools to help us prevent errors in production.
- Generate and keep up-to-date PFMEA, Work Instructions, Visual Aids, and other documents to support the operation.
- Responsible for ensuring the tooling, fixtures, and equipment are in optimal condition.
- Collaborate with other departments to attend NPI, VAVE Projects, and CI Projects.
- Attend the daily SQDCP meetings and actively address the opportunities detected in the meeting.
- Responsible for ensuring all new hires related to the production of the products receive proper training, and certification, looking to respect the three pillars in this order Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
- Responsible for controlling the production spending under the budget, and looking at short, medium, and long term.
- Responsible for coordinating resources to execute manufacturing engineering changes in the production line.
- and other activities that the immediate boss assigns.

Skills/Experience We're Looking For:
- Transfer production lines.
- NPI knowledge.
- Knowledge of the execution and implementation of project management.
- Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes (Sheet Metal Fabrication).
- Mechanical tooling design (Solid Works, Auto Cad or Pro E)
- BOM structuring.
- Geometric tolerances.
- SPC
- PFMEA
- Cost analysis for better decision-making.
- Analysis of information for budget preparation.
- Preparation of metrics for monitoring and compliance with key performance indicators.
- Problem-solving tools.
- Lean Manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years with a similar position.
- Mechatronic Engineer or Mechanical Engineer.
- Metal mechanic experience (Fabrication processes such as: Cut, Bend, Weld, Polishing, material treatments, etc.)
- Project Management
- Lean manufacturing.
