The Planning and Procurement Manager is responsible for developing material supply plans that take into account forecasts, availability of material and manufacturing capacity. Is responsible for identifying and maintaining the appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize subassembly production and raw material supply plans.
This position reports to the Materials Planning Director and is part of the Global Supply Chain Management team located in Solna, Sweden and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Responsible for Planning and procurement team, part of the Global Supply Chain group.
- Serves as lead and trainer for planning/procurement activities in supply chain organization, ensuring continuity of supply and maintaining proper inventory levels.
- Oversee the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and process control compliance.
- Drive the team to implement and maintain the global raw material supply strategies in a cost-effective way.
- Serves as a point of escalation for the team and make sure that the structure for all business relationships between Cepheid and suppliers is well adopted and maintained.
- Supports the NPI process to ensure alignment with the commodity strategies.
- Directs new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Cepheid supply base.
- Develops and presents high level cost reduction opportunities in alignment with the category management
- Participate in or manage company-wide, multi-level, collaborative decisions to set up or change cross-functional processes with other departments.
- Provide leadership over cross functions and complex projects.
- Drive actions and strategy to rights size the inventory levels to optimize customer service levels and inventory turnover.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field; master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of work experience in Purchasing, Material Planning, Resource Management, Operations Planning or Inventory Management.
- Develop, implement, and iterate robust forecasting models to predict future material supply based on business growth, seasonality, and efficiency improvements.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis utilizing Power BI, Excel, and other tools. Understanding of database, SQL & Power BI preferred.
- Experience with APS, ERP (SAP) and MES systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- People leader skillset.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
- Ability to travel to domestic and abroad locations 5% of the time.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- DBS/Lean certification or experience of daily management, standard work, kaizens, value stream mapping, and Heijunka, preferred.
- Working with global teams / communities / direct reports.
