Certainteed Architectural is a division of Saint Gobain. The Strongsville site Manufactures custom wood ceilings and wall panels.
What’s the job?
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Process Control Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining the systems instrumentation with limited interruption to the plant’s production requirements. The Process Control Technician programs the central control systems and associated equipment and provides technical assistance to the Electricians and works closely with production in perfecting trends, reporting, control, alarms and displays. The Process Control Technician is also responsible for setting a high standard for safety, quality, housekeeping, productivity, and performance for all plant associates.
- Optimize and maintain plant PLC systems and plant control instruments
 - Optimize and maintain the Human Machine Interface (HMI) and all connected instruments, working closely with Production, perfecting trends, reporting, control, alarms and displays
 - Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for systems and process systems
 - Provide technical support and knowledge to hourly Maintenance/Electrical Technicians in an effort to reduce costs and improve efficiency
 - Ensure conformance with Automation, IT and corporation guidelines
 - Successfully implement assigned capital projects in a timely manner and within budget constraints
 - Actively involved in production issues to establish groundwork for continuous improvement
 - Promote new upgrades and features to improve and assist plant performance
 
Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday, OT as needed
Compensation: $30.50 - 34.80 per hour
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
What do you bring?
- High School diploma, Electrical/Electronic/PLC Technician certificate or equivalent work experience
 - Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree preferred
 - Minimum 5 years of experience working with electrical systems
 - Strong background in reading and understanding documentation associated with and performing electrical work is required
