The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Coating and Web Processing Senior Manufacturing Technology Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Leading cross-functional projects to develop and deploy Web Processing technology solutions to 3M global manufacturing locations
- Partnering with BSC and other ESC teams to develop and execute Coating and Web Processing technology plans in support of operational and commercialization objectives
- Identify, prioritize, and lead technical activities for improvement projects in support of ESC priorities
- Support or lead process development efforts with ESC teams for NPIs to ensure successful development, scale-up, and launch of new products
- Participate in execution of Coating and Web Processing technology platform strategic plans
- Willingness to maintain flexible hours to support global manufacturing
Requirements
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution
Three (3) years of combined in manufacturing and/or technology development in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Advanced degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university
- Experience with web processing processes (winding, lamination, web handling)
- Experience with coating processes (roll, slot-die, others)
- Experience working with process fundamentals and their application in manufacturing
- Strong leadership, project management and influencing skills
Work location: Maplewood, MN; (4 days in office minimum unless traveling)
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
