The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Coating/Curing Manufacturing Technology Engineering Specialist within 3M’s Manufacturing Technology Organization, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Application and development of innovative curing and drying technologies and solutions to improve manufacturing asset performance in our global sites
- Provide material curing expertise to support manufacturing operations that produce a wide breadth of 3M products
- Lead or support curing process development efforts to ensure successful development, scale-up, and launch of new products
- Lead efforts or cross-functional projects to diagnose and resolve curing process variabilities and defects on manufacturing processes
- Willingness to maintain flexible hours to support global manufacturing
Requirements
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Seven (7) years of manufacturing process experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Two (2) years of experience designing and integrating electronic and mechanical components into a manufacturing process
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Advanced degree in a Mechanical, Electrical or Physics focused science or engineering discipline from an accredited university
- Expertise and familiarization with radiation curing processes and their impact on various material sets
- Experience with fluid mechanics and thermodynamics fundamentals applied to manufacturing
- Strong leadership, project management and influencing skills
Work location: This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office at 3M Center, located in Maplewood, MN.
Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international
