Thales in the Czech Republic employs over 400 people from 45 different nationalities. A total of 15 teams work on projects for government agencies, banking, mobile services and the Internet Of Things (IoT) technology. At the core of our business is the development of software which we configure and embed in a multitude of different devices and form factors. These include many kinds of payment cards, SIM cards, travel passes, secure eBanking devices, authentication tokens, machine identification modules (MIM), and secure ID documents including ePassports, eID and eHealth cards, as well as eDriving licenses. Because of the international environment surrounding us every day, it comes as no surprise that English is our official corporate language.
At Thales Cyber Security Products BL, we are looking for a Senior Java Developer to complete our multinational team, based in Prague, Czechia. The aim of this organisation is to define and develop our new generation of Authentication cloud services. From the user's story definition until the deployment of the solution in production you will participate to define, develop, maintain and deploy the solution components.
The team is young spirited and already organized in an agile way of working (SAFe)

Job requirements:
- 6+ years of ‘hardcore' engineering experience with Java (SE 11+), Gradle/Maven, and REST API
- Solid knowledge of software engineering and development lifecycle best practices, e.g., coding standards/reviews, source control, build processes, and testing
- You (thankfully) have not been assimilated by The Borg, but you sure know that team efforts pay off big time
• Excellent communication skills in English - You thrive in Agile settings: "intelligence is the ability to adapt to change" is your favorite Stephen Hawking quote
- Excellent communication skills. Strong proficiency in both spoken and written English.
- Ability to thrive in Agile environments, adapting to iterative workflows and collaborative teams.
Bonus points for:
- Proficiency in Java frameworks such as Spring Spring (Boot, MVC, Data, Security, Cloud), Domain-Driven Design, (No)SQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, and/or AWS
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, Helm charts.
- Knowledge of reactive programming
- Non-dogmatic approach to software testing, balancing pragmatism and thoroughness to ensure high-quality code without unnecessary complexity.
