Description
DescriptionThe Human Engineering Software team works closely with many teams around Apple to build powerful multi-platform tools, with a particular focus on user studies for new Apple products. We are seeking a world-class Solutions Architect who is passionate about designing and implementing comprehensive data workflows for sensitive user research operations. In this role, you will architect end-to-end solutions for user research data collection, storage, and analysis while ensuring the highest standards of compliance, security, and operational efficiency. You will take a holistic view of study workflows, balancing technical requirements with usability and regulatory constraints.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience architecting large-scale data systems handling sensitive or regulated datasets
 - Strong background in designing end-to-end data workflows (collection, storage, processing, analysis)
 - Experience with Unix-based systems and command line interfaces
 - Demonstrated expertise in system architecture including cloud services, encryption, network security, and distributed storage
 - Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
 - Experience managing cross-functional technical projects and stakeholder alignment
 - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with systems thinking approach
 - BS/MS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Data Engineering, or equivalent
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with user research methodologies and data collection tools
 - Background in healthcare, research, or other regulated industries handling sensitive data
 - Experience with data privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)
 - Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and research data formats
 - Experience with containerization, microservices, and modern DevOps practices
 
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $174,900 and $347,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
