Description
Position Description:Plan, forecast, lead, direct and coordinate work of Self-Perform Operations(SPO) staff, subcontractors, and suppliers on large or complex concreteprojects. Oversee implementation of planned work for adherence to contractedscope for safety, schedule sequence, quality of work performed, and productionplanning and tracking. Supervise Trade labor in concrete or other areas ofresponsibility.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee team of Self-Perform Operations (SPO) self-perform foremen andsuperintendents Forepersons and Superintendents on large or complex concreteprojects.
• Develop and implement overall SPO work schedules and integrate into projectschedule to facilitate, monitor, and maintain team productivity. Anticipate andidentify critical path items and constraints impacting schedules toenable consistent and productive work progress .
• Establish production requirements with Trades Foreperson and measure resultsweekly, oversee progress to promote coordinated project operations, and adjustwork practices and crew assignments to boost production where possible.
• Monitor and report installed quantities and percentage of completion for SPOconcrete tasks. Lead team in weekly production meetings for progress andstatus.
• Manage hiring and termination decisions related to Trade labor, maintainingcommunication of decisions with General Superintendent and Trades Manager.
• Develop relationships with various labor sources to identify qualified laborto fulfill project staffing needs.
• Develop and manage jobsite safety program in collaboration with EH&S teamto support SPO team members to comply with standards and applicable safetycodes and regulations.
• Lead development and communication of site-specific Job HazardAnalysis for use in the field.
• Resolve local area problems related to procedures, precedence, designclarifications, adequate labor, and equipment schedule.
• Select the appropriate formwork for each application of the structure thatwill enhance the quality, safety, and production of the work.
• Supervise and develop Trade Forepersons; provide constructive developmentfeedback and contribute to or complete performance appraisals.
• Communicate work plan, schedule, and project deadlines clearly to Tradesforeperson, staff, and crew.
• Foster clean, respectful, and organized work environment to motivate andinspire staff and crew to perform and meet/exceed project milestones. Meet orexceed overall project milestones.
• Monitor staff and crew productivity and proactively confirm materials andequipment on jobsite.
• Investigate, communicate, and resolve field issues with Owners, Owner'sRepresentatives, Architects, and/or Engineers.
• Manage weekly, estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices, andsubcontractor payment applications.
• Manage installation of work in compliance with approved contract documents.
• Monitor and confirm accuracy of take-off work and manage procurement ofmaterials.
• Assist with bidding work to review productivity and approach for executing thework.
• Perform constructability reviews and analyze drawings to identify specifiedcomponents that may cause construction constraints to be resolved.
• Utilize continuous improvement construction methods such as Last PlannerSystem (LPS) for proactive scheduling.
• Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
The salary range for thisposition is estimated to be 177,000.00 - 220,000.00 USD annualized.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years of related experience performing as Superintendentmanaging work as a specialty contractor focusing on concrete, or experience asa Trades or General foreperson.
• Thorough understanding of commercial construction
• Knowledge of building systems that interface with the structure (e.g.,envelope, structural steel, MEP, excavation)
• Experience managing work as a specialty contractor focusing on concrete
• In-depth technical knowledge of concrete structure, tools, and equipmentrequired by this trade
• In-depth knowledge and experience with various formwork systems
• In-depth knowledge and experience with reinforcing
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of general and subcontract documents,drawings, specifications, construction means, methods, and materials,understanding of line and grade and survey methods
• Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing,and engineering principles and techniques, and accounting principles
• Able to create and manage schedules that allow for consistent and productivecrew
• Extensive knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)and project Safety programs
• Proficient knowledge of building codes and compliance regulations
• Leadership experience to make decisions, direct, and build teams
• Diplomatic approach to problem solving, apply active listening to completelyunderstand target audience needs and develop targeted solutions
• Strong network of labor sources (e.g., Union, Third-Party) and quality individualcraft employees
• Excellent presentation delivery with professional verbal and writtencommunication, able to tailors and delivers communications to stakeholders
• Advanced interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders across organizationallevels, clients, Design teams, and Trades
• Able to apply critical business thinking to impact business planning,operations, financial performance, and risk
• Knowledgeable of continuous improvement methods and tools
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office suite of applications,construction scheduling software, and project management applications
• Travel may be required

The employee must regularly lift and/ormove up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The noise in the work environment is usually moderateto loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionallyworks in an office setting. The noise in the work environment is usually quietto moderate in an office setting. The employee is required to work incompliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
