Context

As a Technical Artist you will be a part of TACTIS Project, which develops a powerful tactical and technical simulation platform tailored for combined forces instruction and training, within Thales' Training & Simulation Business Line.

TACTIS is the most sophisticated simulation training platform, fitting the combined forces needs and requirements in complex battlefield scenarios.

Main responsibilities

Generation of various terrain and environment resources for full mission simulators including any type of combat scenarios with any weather conditions.

Generation of low and high fidelity replicas of all major military and civil strategic locations (airports, tactical operations combat theaters, etc.)

Computer generated forces consisting of:

• Military Aircrafts (combat helicopter, multi-role helicopter and heavy transport helicopters),
• Jet fighter (transport and refueling aircrafts)
• Civil aircrafts (search and rescue, oil and gas, civil security and VIP transport)
• Land forces (live, armored fighting vehicle, command staff and small arms training)
• Naval (submarine, surface fleet and naval aviation).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Understanding of 3D modeling, texturing, and UV workflows.
• General Unreal Engine 5 knowledge for integration (import/export pipelines, including FBX, animation retargeting, and Physics Asset)
• Understanding of animation principles and animation sets (walk cycles, idle, interactions) in Unreal Engine 5.
• Ability to collaborate with developers to ensure correct data integration.
• Experience in rigging and skinning for both human and animal characters.
• Familiarity with PBR texturing workflows.

Would be a plus

• Understanding of Blueprints, Material Editor, and Control Rig in Unreal.
• Experience with Python/MEL scripting for pipeline automation.
• Familiarity with version control (Perforce, Git) and asset management tools.
• Eagerness to explore new production pipelines and real-time technologies.
