Summary / Role Purpose

TheApplication Engineerin the Global Strategic Initiatives / HPC, Cloud & CSM will be responsible to support the Ansys Virtual Labs solution (AVL). AVL provides ready-to-use Virtual Machines to customers for training and pre-sales events.

Examples of key activities are: create Windows images for Virtual Machines, deploy Virtual Machines for events, coordination with sales and the engineering team for events in EMEA.

TheApplication Engineer will primarily work with events in the EMEA time zones, but they may occasionally coordinate events for other regions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Technical activities:

• Create, test and maintain Windows images to be used in the creation of the Virtual Machines
• Provide technical support on issues during events
• Improve the VM deployment workflow (automation, scripting, ...)
• Maintain the solution documentation

Event coordination:

• Present the solution to internal stakeholders
• Train the internal users
• Manage the incoming requests for new events
• Plan new events
• Monitor and report on successful execution of the events

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• Required education and degree type: BS or MS
• Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+0
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic Windows administration and networking
• Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
• Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Creative and innovative mindset on how to analyze a situation and take actions
• Excellent communication skills with capacity to adapt to the audience

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: MS+0
• 1 year of experience with Cloud technology and offering
