Description
JOB DESCRIPTIONAs a Cycle Counter / Materials Analyst, you will be at the forefront of maintaining accurate inventory records within our manufacturing site. Your role will encompass conducting cycle counts, verifying inventory accuracy, collaborating cross-functionally, and contributing to process improvements. Your commitment to precision and efficiency will directly impact our operational success. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining inventory accuracy, minimizing discrepancies, and supporting efficient operations.
As a Cycle Counter/Materials Analyst, you will:
- Cycle Counting Excellence: Execute both scheduled and unscheduled cycle counts of products and materials according to established plans or instructions from the inventory control manager.
- Inventory Verification: Physically count items on hand and meticulously verify quantities against ERP system records. Promptly identify any discrepancies and take corrective measures.
- Root Cause Analysis: Collaborate with inventory control teams to investigate the underlying causes of inventory discrepancies. Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse personnel, operations teams, and relevant departments to ensure precise inventory counts and address discrepancies. Participate in training new employees on proper inventory management procedures.
- Audit Participation: Contribute to periodic audits and physical inventory counts, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Quality Control: Monitor inventory item quality and condition, promptly identifying damaged or expired items. Facilitate the scrapping process for approved disposal of excess and obsolete items.
- Put Away Management: Organize and properly place items staged in the put away area within designated locations. Record movement accurately in the ERP system.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is a plus.
- Fork lift certified or equivalent level of experience.
- Attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform regular counts, including lifting and moving items as needed.
- Proficiency in using basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word).
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Stand up lift experience preferred.
- Previous experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and systems (SAP preferred).
